BlackRock Files for Tokenized Shares of $150B Treasury Trust Fund
BlackRock has taken a decisive step toward integrating blockchain technology into traditional finance by filing a prospectus for digital shares of its $150 billion Treasury Trust Fund. The shares, built on distributed ledger technology (DLT), will be exclusively distributed through BNY Mellon, with a minimum investment threshold of $3 million.
The move aligns with CEO Larry Fink’s vision of tokenization as a transformative force in asset management. While the fund itself holds no cryptocurrency, its DLT-based shares represent a significant bridge between conventional finance and blockchain innovation. BlackRock’s initiative signals growing institutional confidence in the infrastructure underlying digital assets.
